The Power Of Prayer
This afternoon I was laying on a stretcher waiting for my surgery. It was supposed to start at 1:00 and it was 3:30.
Early, I had a CT scan to compare it with the one I had last week, so small amounts of my hair had been cut off to allow the nurse to put some rubber buttons everywhere for guidelines for the work.
I had thought (for a small moment) what it would be if the CT showed that the problem was gone, but a woman came in to "put me to sleep" and I knew that was it.
Before she gave me the shot, though, my doctor arrived and showed me the difference between last week's scan and today's -- all of the excess spinal fluid was gone! They didn't look like they were from the same person!
He thinks their was blockage in the tube and somehow it had worked out. I knew that I had felt much better the last few days, but I had no idea why.
He told me to get dressed and leave and come see him in two weeks and took me off the medicine. Not many people, I bet, get to walk out of that room!
Thank you all who prayed, because I'm convinced that it had a big part in this.
If my grammar is horrible, it's due to the fact that I'm dead tired and need sleep --- besides, I need to go to work tomorrow! :)

today's the day
Well, today is the day. At 1 p.m. (central time) they are supposed to start the surgery. I'm ready for it to happen...
Thank so many of you for your prayers and thoughts. As soon as I get home I'll tell you about it. I hope it will be Thursday or Friday, but I know that it could be Saturday.
Guess I should go to bed for a while.

News
I found out yesterday that my shunt is the problem and they will have to put in a new one (with a new tube). Monday they will find the edges of the old one in my head and hopefully will do the surgery Wednesday. It will take two doctors --- one on my head and one on my chest with the tube. I will have to stay at the hospital one, maybe two nights. I'll also have to miss work for a week. (Only 3 left at school, so that's a mess) It will be nice, though, to be able to stay awake and see again! My brain doesn't have much room left----

The saga continues...
Thank you all for being concerned with my health -- it's frustrating now! Two weeks ago I started having headaches and my vision got blurry. I've seen 3 doctors and 2 of them said that my shunt isn't working right, but my brain surgeon said that he's not sure of that.
I've already had a eeg, x-ray, and an MRI -- Thursday I'll have a CT scan -- hopefully that will find the problem!
Oh, any of you that don't know, I had a hemorrhagic stroke 10 years ago and that's what brought the shunt ---- my vision is getting worse, but I'll try to keep working on my blog!!
